Something Unique

Corporate Hospitality Half Days

The Prestbury House Management Centre uses many low impact, stimulating and challenging exercises in the business world for example, for teambuilding and leadership training.

These exercises are also available for corporate away days, for client entertaining or rewarding employees. The emphasis is however directed at fun and challenges without the training/consultancy input.

Merry Go Round
Maximum: 30 people
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes + 30 minutes briefing

A treasure hunt with teams around the village and pubs of Prestbury following a route by solving cryptic clues and having to find certain 'objects' on route. (Optional extras are prizes on route).

The Canister
Maximum: 20 people
Duration: Allow for 3 hours 30 minutes

Vital computer software has been lost somewhere in the Prestbury House grounds and your team has only limited time to find the software before it self-destructs or the 'baddies' get there first. The group uses Prestbury House's 5 acres of grounds and our woods, finding clues, which involve compass bearings, to obtain information as to where the software or 'The Canister' may be found. In the process they have to negotiate 'The plank', 'The Horse' (log poles across water), 'The Tarzan Swing' and the 'The Spider's Web'. All this and they must avoid being captured, held hostage or interrogated by the 'baddies'.

Manhunt
Maximum: 20 people
Duration: 4-5 hours

This takes place in the Management Centre's 55 acres of wood on the side of Cleeve Hill (approx mile from the Hotel). This is a half-day event involving a complex search using clues to find a 'Guide' who will assist them in finding the 'merchandise'. The trouble is that a 'Bandit' is out to frustrate the teams' attempts to succeed and if 'shot' team members will be out of the game. This event is quite involved and requires a safety briefing beforehand.

Built into all of these exercises can be finding hidden treasure troves or beers and even champagne.

Selection of Four Problem Solving Exercises
Maximum: 20 people
The approximate times for the exercises are as follows;

  • Water Splash - 40 minutes
  • Stepping Stones -1 hour 15 minutes
  • Bombs Away - 45 minutes
  • Minefield - 45 minutes
  • Ski Team - 45 minutes
  • Electric Fence -1 hour
  • Lifeboat - 1 hour
  • Barrel Roll - 30 minutes

For all events add time for exercise briefings/explanations and questions, plus at the end 'How it should have been done!'

Another suggestion to add to the fun is to complete before either 'Merry Go Round' or 'The Canister' some of the short exercises using the permanent structures in the training areas. The plot would be to score as many points as possible on these exercises and these earn extra resources, time or booze on the main events.

  • Merry Go Round plus a selection of short exercises:
  • The Canister plus a selection of short exercises (Full day)
  • Manhunt plus Merry Go Round (Full day)

Note: Cost of accommodation (if required) and all catering is costed separately according to clients' requirements.
